How did you feel about the IETTP at KNUE?

Last two months, I really had good time here in KNUE.

First of all, I am so lucky to have nice classmates. They are nice, good, down-to-earth and considerate. They always seem to do their best.

Second, I really appreciate our instructors. Walter, listening instructor, gave me much inspiration of how I can teach my students listening. Reggies, composition instructor, guided me through what a essay is and how I can write a essay in an organized way. Nicole, Conversation Instructor, made a friendly environment to promote our conversation naturally.

Third, I owe IETTP staffs a lot. Without their sacrifices, my KNUE life would be monotonous.

I wonder your opinion. How did you feel ?

Do you think a college degree is a must?

Some think a college dregree is one of the most important things we can get in life. In college we can learn many important things and train for a profession, life, love and human relationship. However, others don't think a college degree is everything in life. Though they admit students learn many things in college and train for many occupations the essential life skills are the ones you have to develop on your own.

What is your opinion?

What book have you read lately?

I am reading two books : Into the Wild written in English, Bad Samaritans written in Korea.

Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer is a non-fiction book about the adventures of Christopher McCandless. In April 1992 a young man from a well-to-do family hitchhiked to Alaska and walked alone into the wilderness north of Mt. McKinley. His name was Christopher Johnson McCandless. He had given $25,000 in savings to charity, abandoned his car and most of his possessions, burned all the cash in his wallet, and invented a new life for himself. Four months later, his decomposed body was found by a moose hunter. How McCandless came to die is the unforgettable story of "Into the Wild.

Bad Samaritans by Jang Hajoon is a book about the myth of free trade and the secret histoy of capitalism.

I am wondering what book you are reading now ???

Do you think Lee Soyeon is a real astronaut?

Some people insist that the event of sending the korean into space is a budget waste.
Even some media described her as a Spaceflight Participant or Commercial Users & Tourist. Everybody knows that she just follows the direction provided and controlled by Russia Space Center.

Do you think that this event makes our space science develop and she is a real astronaut?

Do you agree or disagree with college admission with donation?

Some people insist that school admission in exchange for money donation goes against the principle of equal opportunity. This allegation is seemingly plausible but not ultimately right. Under the system, wealthy children can choose any university to which they register regardless of their scholastic ability. But they can't graduate from universities if they fail to earn enough credits to graduate. Namely, money-for-admission system would not bring about any unreasonable advantage for those who don't have the ability to graduate. Therefore, the donation-for-school entry system doesn't go against the principals of equity and impartiality. The surging registration fee of most Korean universities has become a hot-button issue for several years. If the government allows universities to grant admission to a student paying certain amount of money, Korean universities won't have to increase registration fees anymore. Also, school authorities will be able to give more studying opportunity to students suffering from financial hardship by using funds raised by the policy.

What is your opinion? I'm all against college admission with donation.

Some Schools wear uniforms and other schools don't. Which do you prefer?

I am all for mandatory uniforms in schools.

Anyone who has been teased for not having trendy clothes would probably agree with me. Young people have enough pressure on them as it is, and trying to keep up with popular fashions in school will only increase their stress levels. At least with uniforms, every studnet is on a level playing field. Uniforms also take the focus off of clothes and put it on studying.

What Film is Your Favorite and Why?

The English Patient

An idea hit me when I heard the news that the director of this film died on March 18th 2008. This film's my favoirte.

This is one of the most romantic films ever made and is filled with the joy and anguish of love and war. It shows that while war may create logistical lines that can not be crossed, the heart has no boundaries. Anyone who has ever experienced a love of such emotional intensity and physical longing became one who will understand the love affair of Katherine and Almasy.

Also, I wonder what movie is your favorite and why.

[Best Scene English Patient]

ALMÁSY : I promise I'll come back.
I promise I'll never leave you.
